Philippians: When A Set-Back Isn’t (1:12-18a)

When things don't go our way, what can we do? Have you ever wondered if God can be present in seemingly hopeless situations? In this portion of the letter to the Philippian church, the Apostle Paul provides encouragement that even during the most difficult circumstances, we can take joy in something. Paul uses his own life as an example to the church, so that when they are faced with struggles, they would not be discouraged but would instead take heart, knowing that God is still working His good and perfect will. In difficult circumstances, we may expect one outcome, but the benefit of those serving Jesus might be the opposite.
