Why does the same sermon land deeply in one person and roll right off another? Jesus answered that question with a story about a farmer — and the answer had nothing to do with the seed. This Sunday we're opening Luke 8 and sitting with one of the most self-examining passages in the gospels: the parable of the soils. But we're not starting where you might expect. Before Jesus tells the parable, Luke introduces us to a group of women who had already become what the parable describes. They heard. They believed. They gave. They followed. Come this Sunday and ask an honest question with us: What kind of soil am I?
