Ever Clear & Ever Full (Genesis 2:10-14)

Apr 21, 2024    Josh Lott

This week, we look at Genesis 2:10-14 and the description of the river flowing from Eden that divided into four rivers watering the surrounding lands. We saw how this river represents the life and abundance that flows from God's presence. Just as the garden was meant to spread outward through the work of humanity, so the Church today is called to be a glimpse of God's shalom (peace) overflowing into the world. We are invited to daily drink from the living water that Jesus provides, allowing it to become a river within us that brings life wherever we go. The passage points forward to the river of life flowing from God's throne in the new creation when all things are made new. Until then, we live as rivers of hope in the desert places, taking the good news of God's abundant life to the ends of the earth.
